Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A weak cold front extends from Venice, Florida southwestward to near 26N84W where it transitions to a stationary front that extends to 26N94W. The front will reach from the southeastern Gulf to the central Gulf this afternoon and evening and to just SE of the Gulf tonight. An upper-level shortwave trough, in combination with a surface trough along South Florida, will continue to bring scattered showers and thunderstorms over the Straits of Florida today. Some of this activity may contain frequent lightning and strong gusty winds. Another cold front will enter the northern Gulf Wed, reach from north-central Florida to southern Texas Thu and become stationary through Fri night.
