height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A cold front exiting the Texas coast this evening
will reach from the Florida Panhandle to the Yucatan Peninsula
late Thu, then exit the basin Fri morning. Behind the front,
strong NW winds will prevail, with a period of gales offshore
Veracruz Thu. High pressure will build over the Gulf in the wake
of the front with moderate winds prevailing through Sat. The
next cold front will push off the Texas coast Sun night and
bring strong NW winds across the basin once again on Mon. Gales
will likely redevelop offshore Veracruz.
