Southeast Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from a 1007 mb low over southwestern Louisiana to 25N93W, to 21N94W and to inland Mexico near 20N96W. The front will reach from northern Florida to near 25N87W and to the Yucatan Peninsula by Thu evening and move to just southeast of the Gulf Fri. Fresh to strong northwest winds behind the front will spread across the Gulf through early Fri. By Fri afternoon strong north winds will be confined to the Bay of Campeche, then diminish to fresh speeds late Fri night. High pressure will build in behind the front through the weekend, with winds diminishing and seas subsiding throughout. A strong cold front will move across the area Sun and Sun night followed by fresh to strong north to northeast winds, becoming strong northeast winds entire area Mon and Mon night as strong high pressure builds southeastward across the region. A cold front will move off the southeastern U.S. coast Thu night, with some strong southwest winds ahead of it, north of about 29N. These winds will spread east as the front reaches a line from Bermuda to the southeastern Bahamas to central Cuba this weekend and stalls. Some strong north winds are possible behind the front north of about 29N this weekend. A stronger cold front will sweep across the western half of the area early next week followed by strong to near gale force north to northeast winds and building seas, mainly north and northeast of the Bahamas.
