Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Major Hurricane Delta is in the Caribbean near 20.6N
86.4W 972 mb at 5 AM EDT moving NW at 15 kt. Maximum sustained
winds 100 kt gusts 120 kt. Delta will move over the northeast
tip of Yucatan and through the Yucatan Channel into the
south-central Gulf near 21.9N 88.4W this afternoon, then
continue north to 23.3N 90.8W Thu morning, 24.9N 92.4W Thu
afternoon, 26.7N 92.9W Fri morning, 29.2N 92.3W Fri afternoon,
and move inland over Louisiana and weaken to a tropical storm
near 32.0N 91.0W Sat morning. Delta will weaken to a remnant low
over the Lower Mississippi Valley by early Sun.

to 30N77W will persist in the area through mid week. A
reinforcing cold  front will move off the Carolinas and merge
with this front on  Thu, then move east across the northern
portion of the basin  through the end of the week.
