Southeast Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from the Straits of Florida to the NE corner of the Yucatan Peninsula, cutting across the land, to 19N91W near Campeche Mexico. The front is forecast to continue moving southeastward, and exit from the SE Gulf of Mexico early on Wednesday. Strong high pressure will build across the area in the wake of the front through Thursday. Minimal gale-force NW to N winds are occurring within 75 nm of the coast of Mexico from 21N southward. These winds should diminish to a strong breeze early on Wednesday. Strong northerly winds behind the front will diminish gradually through late Wednesday night. The surface high pressure will shift to east of the region by late Friday night. Fresh to locally strong SE to S return flow will be setting up in much of the western and central waters.
