Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A trough over the central Gulf will weaken as it
moves into the NW Gulf through tonight, allowing associated
strong winds and seas over the NE and N central Gulf to 
diminish. Tropical Storm Nate over the Yucatan Peninsula near 
22.3N 86.4W 990 mb at 11 PM EDT moving NNW at 19 kt. Maximum 
sustained winds 55 kt gusts to 65 kt. Nate will intensify to a 
hurricane over the central Gulf of Mexico near 21.1N 87.8W by 
early Saturday with maximum sustained winds 65 kt gusts to 80 
kt, then continue to strengthen as it reaches near 28.5N 88.9W 
early Saturday evening with maximum sustained winds 75 kt gusts 
to 90 kt, and move inland near 31.4N 88.1W early Saturday 
morning with maximum sustained winds 65 kt gusts to 80 kt.
Nate will continue inland well N of the Gulf through Sunday 
night. More tranquil marine conditions are expected early next 
week in the wake of Nate.

45 to 50 kt. Seas 10 to 14 ft late. Elsewhere, E to SE winds 45 
to 60 kt.  of 24N W of 84W, seas 6 to 8 ft building to 15 to 22 
ft late.
Elsewhere, seas 6 to 8 ft, except 5 to 7 ft E of 84W. Numerous 
showers and scattered thunderstorms.
.SAT...TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS EXPECTED. Straits of Florida, 
SE to S winds 25 to 30 kt, diminishing to 15 to 20 kt in the 
afternoon. Elsewhere, SE to S winds 40 to 45 kt, diminishing to 
25 to 30 kt in the afternoon. W of 86W, seas 10 to 17 ft, 
subsiding to 7 to 10 ft in the afternoon. E of 86W, seas 7 to 10 
ft except 5 to 7 ft Straits of Florida. Numerous showers and 
scattered thunderstorms.

.SYNOPSIS...High pres across the area will weaken through
Sunday. A trough along 69W/70W S of 27N will slowly move towards 
the Bahamas through early next week while weakening. A stronger 
trough will move into the far eastern waters Tuesday night 
through Wednesday night preceded by fresh to strong NE to E 
winds from 23N to 28N.
