Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A trough extends down the Florida peninsula to
1007 mb low pressure over Straits of Florida will weaken as they
move into the NW Gulf through Fri night, allowing associated
strong winds and seas over the NE and N central Gulf to
diminish. Newly upgraded T.S. Nate in western Caribbean near
14.3N 93.7W at 11 AM EDT is forecast to move into the S central
Gulf Fri night, reaching 23.7N 88.1W as a hurricane Fri morning,
29.5N 89.5W Sat morning before making landfall over the N
central Gulf coast late Sat night into early Sun. More tranquil
marine conditions are expected early next week in the wake of
the system.

.SYNOPSIS...Strong high pres N of the area will continue to 
support fresh to strong NE to E flow W of 70W today. Winds will 
diminish across the basin thereafter as the pressure gradient 
significantly relaxes, with much more tranquil marine conditions
 this weekend into early next week. 

.THIS AFTERNOON...E to SE winds 20 to 25 kt. Seas 3 to 11 ft.
Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.
