Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Strong northeast winds over the eastern Gulf will
diminish into Thu as a trough moves across South Florida into
the SE Gulf. Winds will increase again over the SE Gulf late Thu
ahead of newly formed T.D. Sixteen-E, currently in the SW
Caribbean. Sixteen-E will move through the Yucatan Channel as a
tropical storm Thu night, reaching 17.9N 85.0W in the S central
Gulf by Fri morning. Sixteen-E may intensify further before
reaching 23.5N 87.0W Sat morning, then making landfall as
hurricane on the western Florida Panhandle Sun.

.SYNOPSIS...Strong high pres N of the area will continue to
support fresh to strong NE to E flow W of 70W into Thu. Winds 
will diminish across the basin by the end of the week as the 
pressure gradient significantly relaxes, with much more tranquil
 marine conditions this weekend.

25 to 30 kt N of 27N. Seas 3 to 12 ft. Scattered showers and
isolated thunderstorms.
