Southeast Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A thermal trough will develop each evening over the NW Yucatan Peninsula, move into the SW Gulf overnight where it will dissipate each morning. Weak high pressure will remain over the area through Wednesday night. Maximum sustained winds are 65 kt with gusts to 80 kt. Maria is forecast to continue to pull further away from the forecast area through tonight. Winds and seas associated with Maria will gradually decrease through through Wednesday night. A trough will extend SW from the N-central waters to the Central Bahamas in the wake of Maria through Wednesday night, and become diffuse on Thursday. High pressure will build westward across the eastern portion of the area. A weak cold front is expected to approach the SE United States on Friday, then weaken over the far NW waters on Saturday as strengthening continental high pressure builds southward over it.
