Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A weak surface trough over the central Gulf will
drift westward this weekend accompanied by scattered showers and
thunderstorms. Otherwise, weak high pressure over the
southeastern U.S will maintain a slight pressure gradient and
weak winds across the area through the next several days.  

.THIS AFTERNOON...NE winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 ft or less.
Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. 
.TONIGHT...NE winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 2 ft or less. 
.SUN...NE winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 ft or less.

Within 200 nm east of the coast of Florida

.SYNOPSIS...Hurricane Jose near 28.8N 72.2W 982 mb at 11 AM EDT 
moving NW at 8 kt. Maximum sustained winds 70 kt gusts 85 kt. 
Jose is forecast to strengthen slightly as it reaches near 29.5N
72.4W early tonight, to near 30.8N 72.2W by early Sunday, then
lift N of the area Sunday afternoon to near 32.4N 72.0W by
Sunday  evening with maximum sustained winds 75 kt gusts 90 kt,
then begin to weaken as it reaches to near 34.0N 72.0W by early
on  Monday with maximum sustained winds 70 kt gusts 85 kt. By
late  Monday, winds should diminish below gale force and seas
will  subside to less than 12 ft over the forecast waters as
Jose  continues northward. A trough will extend from the NE in
the wake of Jose to near the Bahamas through Monday, then become
diffuse  just E of Florida. Central Atlantic high pres will
build southwestward toward the eastern portion of the basin in
the  wake of Jose into early next week. Newly formed Potential 
Tropical Cyclone Fifteen is forecast to enter the eastern 
Caribbean Sea late Monday while intensifying to a hurricane 
reaching near 16.3N 61.3W early Tuesday with maximum sustained 
winds 75 kt gusts 90 kt. It is forecast to track NW over the 
eastern Caribbean afterwards through Wednesday night. Winds and 
seas will build over the far SE waters beginning late Tuesday. 

.THIS AFTERNOON...N winds 10 to 15 kt S of 27N, and N 15 to 20 kt
N of 27N. Seas 6 to 8 ft in NE swell. 
.TONIGHT...N to NE winds 10 to 15 kt S of 27N, and NW to N 15 to
20 kt N of 27N. Seas 6 to 9 ft in NE swell. 
.SUN...NW to N winds 10 to 15 kt S of 27N, and NW to N 15 to
20 kt N of 27N. Seas 5 to 7 ft in NE swell.
