Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A weak surface trough over the central Gulf will
drift westward this weekend accompanied by scattered showers and
thunderstorms. A thermal trough will move off the coast of the
Yucatan Peninsula and over the eastern Bay of Campeche each
night beginning on Fri. Otherwise, weak high pressure over the
southeastern U.S will maintain a weak pressure across the area
through the next several days.

.SYNOPSIS...Tropical Storm Jose near 26.5N 69.4W 989 mb at 11 AM
 EDT moving NW at 8 kt. Maximum sustained winds 60 kt gusts
75 kt. Jose is forecast to intensify to a hurricane and move to
near  27.1N 70.7W by this evening with maximum sustained winds
70 kt  gusts to 85 kt, to near 28.1N 71.9W early Saturday, then
to  near 29.1N 72.5W Saturday evening as its strengthens with
maximum sustained winds of 80 kt gusts to 100 kt, and maintain
intensity  as it reaches near 30.4N 72.4W early on Sunday. Jose
is forecast  to lift N of the area on Sunday afternoon reaching
near 33.3N  72.2W by early on Monday. A trough will extend from
the NE in the  wake of Jose to near the Bahamas through Monday,
then become  diffuse just E of Florida. Central Atlantic high
pres will build  SW toward the eastern portion of the basin in
the wake of Jose  into early next week.
