Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A weak pressure pattern will prevail through the
next several days. The only exception will be associated with a
thermal trough moving off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula and
over the eastern Bay of Campeche each night beginning on Friday.

.SYNOPSIS...Hurricane Jose centered near 25.2N 66.0W 985 MB at
11 PM EDT moving W at 3 kt. Maximum sustained winds 70 kt with
gusts to 85 kt. Jose will change little in strength while moving 
to near 25.2N 66.5W Thu morning and then near 25.9N 67.8W Thu
evening, then will weaken to a tropical storm near 27.0N 69.6W Fri
morning, reaching near 28.0N 70.8W Fri evening, then near 30.5N 
71.0W Sat evening, moving well N of the area near 33.7N 69.6W Sun 
evening, and 36.6N 68.7W Mon evening. A trough will extend to the 
SE Bahamas and SE Cuba in the wake of Jose. A ridge will build SW 
from the N central Atlantic to the eastern portion of the basin 
Friday through early next week.
