Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A weak pressure pattern will prevail through the
remainder of the week. The only exception will be associated
with a thermal trough moving off the coast of the Yucatan
Peninsula and over the eastern Bay of Campeche each night
beginning on Friday.  

.THIS AFTERNOON...S winds less than 5 kt. Seas 2 ft or less.  
Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. 
.TONIGHT...SE to S winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 ft or less.  Scattered
showers and isolated thunderstorms. 
.THU...SE to S winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 ft or less. Scattered
showers and isolated thunderstorms. 
.THU NIGHT...SE to S winds less than 5 kt, shifting to E in the
late evening and overnight. Seas 2 ft or less. Scattered showers 
and isolated thunderstorms.

.SYNOPSIS...Hurricane Jose centered near 25.5N 65.6W 985 MB at
11 AM EDT moving SE at 6 kt. Maximum sustained winds 65 kt with 
gusts to 80 kt. Jose will move to near 25.2N 65.5W tonight, with
maximum sustained winds 65 kt with gusts to 80 kt, then maintain 
intensity as it reaches near 25.1N 66.2W early Thursday, near 
25.5N 67.5W early Thursday night, near 26.4N 69.0W early on 
Friday, then weaken to a tropical storm as it nears 28.5N 71.5W 
early on Saturday. Jose is then forecast to reach near 31.5N 70.5W
early on Sunday before lifting N of the forecast waters during 
Sunday morning. In its wake, a trough will extend from near 31N71W
to the SE Bahamas and to southeastern Cuba. A ridge will build 
southwestward from the N central Atlantic to the eastern portion 
of the basin Friday through Sunday night.

ft or less. N of 27N, SE to S winds 5 kt. Seas 4 to 5 ft in E
swell.
