Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A weak Atlc ridge extends westward along 28N and
into the E central Gulf to a 1018 mb high near 28N87.5W. The
ridge is expected to persist through Fri to produce moderate to
locally fresh Southerly flow in the W half of basin, then
diminish through Sun as the ridge slowly lifts northward.

showers and isolated thunderstorms. 
.FRI...NE to E winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 ft or less. Scattered

.SYNOPSIS...The N part of a strong tropical wave along 71W will 
continue W and reach the Straits of Florida early Sat, accompanied
by fresh to locally strong winds and very active weather. Low 
pressure in the tropical Atlc will pass N of the Leeward Islands 
late Sat, possibly as a tropical cyclone, and reach the southern 
Bahamas by early Mon bringing strong winds and building seas to 
the waters S of 25N. A ridge along 28N will move N of the area 
early next week. 

.OVERNIGHT...E to SE winds 10 to 15 kt S of 27N, and SE to S 5 to
10 kt N of 27N. Seas 2 ft or less. Scattered showers and isolated
thunderstorms. 
.FRI...E to SE winds 10 to 15 kt S of 27N, and SE to S 5 to 10 kt
