Low pressure moving off the South Texas coast into the northwest Gulf will gradually weaken as it moves across the northern Gulf into the Florida Big Bend area through Tue. Northerly winds following a trailing cold front will reach gale force over the western Gulf this evening and tonight. Expect showers and thunderstorms across the northern Gulf through tonight as well. The front slow over the SE Gulf through mid week. High pressure will build over the NW Gulf in the wake of the front, except a trough will persist over the far southwest Gulf Tue and Wed. This pattern will allow diminishing winds and seas, except for fresh to strong NW winds along the Mexican coast west of the trough. The front will move southeast of the area by Thu.
