Winds and seas will gradually decrease today as the front moves away from the area. Moderate to fresh northerly winds are expected across the eastern Gulf E of 87W, with mainly gentle to moderate winds elsewhere. A cold front extends from central Cuba to northern Honduras. A scatterometer pass at 0318 UTC showed strong NNW winds behind the front in the NW Caribbean. The front will slowly move southeast, then stall from eastern Cuba to northern Nicaragua Sat morning. Fresh to strong northerly winds and seas to 8 ft will persist behind the front through this evening. Winds are expected to increase across the eastern and central Caribbean on Sat, with seas building to 8-9 ft.
