Marine Weather Discussion for the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea,
and Tropical North Atlantic from 07N to 19N between 55W and 64W
and the Southwest North Atlantic including the Bahamas

...GULF OF MEXICO...

Fresh to strong winds and high seas continue behind a cold front
SE of the area. A recent scatterometer pass, combined with 
surface data, shows fresh to strong winds across the Bay of 
Campeche, and E of 90W. Winds and seas will gradually decrease 
today as the front moves away from the area. Moderate to fresh 
northerly winds are expected across the eastern Gulf E of 87W, 
with mainly gentle to moderate winds elsewhere. High pres will 
prevail across the Gulf waters through the weekend.

...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN
55W AND 64W...

A cold front extends from central Cuba to northern Honduras. A
scatterometer pass at 0318 UTC showed strong NNW winds behind the
front in the NW Caribbean. The front will slowly move southeast,
then stall from eastern Cuba to northern Nicaragua Sat morning. 
Fresh to strong northerly winds and seas to 8 ft will persist 
behind the front through this evening. Winds are expected to 
increase across the eastern and central Caribbean on Sat, with 
seas building to 8-9 ft. Fresh winds are forecast east of the 
Lesser Antilles, with seas of 8 to 10 ft through Sun. 

...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...

High pressure over the central Atlantic will shift eastward
ahead of a cold front extending from 31N74W across the Bahamas to
central Cuba. Fresh NW winds are west of the front from latest 
scatterometer data. The front will become stationary from 31N67W
to the SE Bahamas Sat morning. A trough ahead of the front along
75W will stall and dissipate through Sat.
