A weak surface low at 28N90W will shift E to near 27N88W today, then weaken to a trough later tonight that will meander along 86W through early Fri before losing identity. Fresh to locally strong NE winds, 4 to 7 ft seas, and scattered TSTMS, are forecast over the NW and N-Central Gulf waters W of the front into tonight, then fresh NE flow forecast as the surface low dissipates. A N to S ridge will build briefly S across the Gulf waters along 92W on Fri night into Sat, then weaken allowing a strong cold front to E across the Gulf on Sun and Mon. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Expect strong trades over the Central and SW Caribbean through early Fri, with near gale force nocturnal winds near the coast of Colombia tonight and again Thu night. Although the pressure gradient will relax on Fri night, still expect a narrow swath of strong winds along the NW coast of Colombia during the overnight hours through the upcoming weekend. E swell, in the form of 7 to 10 ft seas, currently across the tropical ATLC waters, including all the Atlc passages, will begin to subside from the NE on Thu with seas less than 8 ft by late Fri, but build back to 8 ft E of the Windwards on Sun. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... Remnants of a stationary front from 30N65W to the Northern Bahamas will lift N as a weak warm front through the remainder of the afternoon, with a surface low developing near 31N79W by early Thu. The low will move NE dragging a new cold front SE through the Central Bahamas by Fri. The tightening pressure gradient will support strong N-NE winds across the waters N of 30N W of 68W on Thu then diminishing on Thu evening. Another surface low will develop near 29N78W on Thu night, and race ENE passing N of Bermuda on Fri night. Expect a SW-W-NW 20-25 kt wind shift across the waters N of 30N between 55W and 72W on Fri afternoon into late Fri night.
