High pressure prevails over the forecast area. Latest surface observations indicate gentle to moderate winds prevail over the area. Seas are in the 2-4 ft range over the northern Gulf and 3-5 ft over the southern Gulf. High pressure will prevail over the forecast waters through Friday. The area of high pressure will shift eastward Saturday enabling a cold front to move into the NW waters Saturday night. The front will extend from Central Florida to near 22N95W to Tampico, Mexico Sunday night. Fresh to strong winds will prevail west of the front. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Broad troughing prevails over the western Caribbean. Latest surface observations indicate gentle to moderate winds prevail over the Caribbean as well as the tropical N Atlantic forecast zones. Seas are in the 4-6 ft range over the western Caribbean, 3-5 ft over the eastern Caribbean, and 5-7 ft over the tropical N Atlantic forecast zones. The trough will shift eastward into the central Caribbean by Friday, where it will prevail through the weekend. Fresh winds will develop off the coast of Colombia today and pulse to strong through Friday. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A dissipating cold front extends from 31N68W to the northern Bahamas. Latest surface observations indicate fresh to strong winds in the NW waters off the coast of northern Florida with gentle to moderate winds prevailing elsewhere. Seas are in the 6-9 ft range over the NW waters, 5-6 ft elsewhere outside the Bahamas, and 1-3 ft west of the Bahamas. The cold front will slowly dissipate by weeks end.
