Marine Weather Discussion for the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea,
and Tropical North Atlantic from 07N to 19N between 55W and 64W
and the Southwest North Atlantic including the Bahamas

...GULF OF MEXICO...

High pressure centered over the NE Gulf will shift NE of the 
area today leaving a ridge to meander from the Florida panhandle 
to the SW Gulf waters while a cold front stalls across the 
interior Texas Coastal Plains. Fresh SE return flow, 3-5 ft seas 
and a few showers, currently observed across the W Gulf waters 
will diminish to a moderate southerly breeze on Wed and continue 
through Thu night, then light southerly winds are forecast W of 
a N-S ridge developing across the central waters over the 
upcoming weekend. Light NE winds currently across the E Gulf 
will increase to moderate to fresh NE-E breeze tonight across 
the far SE Gulf waters, with moderate NE winds forecast 
everywhere E of 88W by late Fri.  
  
...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 
55W AND 64W... 

A frontal trough extending from Haiti to the northern coast of 
Honduras will drift W and gradually dissipate over the next 
couple of days. Moderate to fresh NE winds are forecast to 
continue NW of the frontal trough this week with the gradient 
relaxing on Sat. Gentle to moderate trades expected to develop E 
of the western drifting frontal trough on Wed night.   
  
...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...

A stationary front extends from 31N65W to Haiti with a weak 
surface low forecast to soon develop along the front near 
30N73W. Expect the front to drift W through the upcoming weekend 
with fresh N winds within about 240 nm W of the frontal boundary 
through Wed night. Fresh NE winds forecast are N of 28N W of 79W 
on Sun. Moderate E winds are forecast E of the frontal boundary.
