Strong Tropical Storm Franklin continues to develop over the northwest Caribbean Sea, and is expected to cross the Yucatan peninsula tonight and early Tue, reaching the far southwest Gulf off west coast of the Yucatan peninsula late Tue. Franklin will continue to move west as a strong tropical cyclone, reaching the Veracruz coast early Thu with seas building to 22 ft. Please see http://hurricanes.gov for more information on T.S. Franklin. Meanwhile, a surface ridge over the northern Gulf will move northward through late Tue as Franklin moves into the southwest Gulf. Winds and seas will diminish across the southwest Gulf late Thu into Fri as Franklin continues inland over central Mexico. Weak high pressure will build over the northeast Gulf by Sat. A thermal trough will form off the northwest coast of the Yucatan peninsula each evening starting Fri and migrate west through the early morning hours bringing brief pulses of fresh winds to the southwest Gulf. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W...
