An E to W ridge extending from the Florida Straits to SE Texas will weaken some tonight allowing a weak cold front to move S across the northern gulf waters accompanied by a moderate to locally fresh SW-W-NW wind shift, but only across the waters to the E of 91W. This front will stall and meander from Cedar Key Florida to 27N90W to NE Texas on Sun night and Mon. A weak frontal wave low may develop briefly along the front before it begins to drift N on Mon night. Expect whatever remains of the front to reach the northern coastal plains on Thu as a ridge rebuilds from Central Florida to the Texas Coastal Bend. Further S...a thermal trough will develop over the Yucatan Peninsula each evening before pushing offshore into the SW Gulf each night. The trough will drift westward during the overnight hours, and dissipate over the SW Gulf each morning. Only a moderate NE-E-SE wind shift is forecast along the trough for the next 5 days, with seas of 2-3 ft. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Ridging N of the area continues to support fresh to locally strong trade across the Caribbean roughly to the S of 17N between 63W and 82W. The strongest winds will occur nocturnally along the coast of NW Venezuela and Northern Colombia, with the area of strong winds expanding N to along 14N tonight. These nightly events will be considerably weaker on Sun and Mon nights, then only fresh NE-E winds expected on Tue, Wed and Thu nights. Expect strong E winds along the S coast of Hispaniola beginning on Tue night. Moderate trades are expected E of 63W through Sun, then fresh ENE winds, with combined seas to 8 ft, will spread W across the waters E of the Lesser Antilles in association with a tropical wave. These wind/sea conditions will reach the NE Caribbean passages on Tue night and Wed, then subside on Wed night as the wave continues westward. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... An E to W ridge currently extending from 28N55W to the Florida Straits will shift S to a position from 30N55W to 22N80W on Sun and Mon, then shift back N on Mon and Tue reaching from 30N55W to Fort Pierce Florida on Tue night and Wed, and from 30N60W to Port Canaveral Florida on Wed night and Thu. Fresh southerly flow will continue N of the ridge today ahead of a weak cold front that will move off the SE Georgia coast this evening. The front will stall from 31N76W to 29N81W late Sun night, and begin to drift W on Mon moving back inland the SE CONUS late Wed. Moderate to locally fresh easterly flow is forecast S of the ridge, except becoming strong during the late afternoons and evenings along the N coast of Hispaniola, and occasionally spreading W across the AtlC approach to the Windward Passage, all beginning on Mon afternoon.
