Weak ridging continues over the W gulf while a surface trough extends SW from Cedar Key Fl to near 25N90W, with ISOL TS observed along the trough. The trough will move E of the area tonight as a ridge builds from the Florida Straits to the Texas Coastal Bend, with little change expected through Sat night, then the ridge will weaken and retract Eastward. At least one more weak trough will move slowly E across the NE gulf waters N of the ridge late tonight and on Sat. A weak cold front will move S into the northern gulf waters on Sat night accompanied by a moderate to locally fresh SW-W-NW wind shift. This front will stall from the Florida Big Bend to 28N90W to NE Texas late Sun. A blend of global models still leads to a solution of a weak surface low developing briefly along the front over the far NE gulf late Sun night, with the frontal remnants drifting NW on Mon and Tue as the ridge strengthens and rebuilds westward. Further S...a thermal trough will develop over the Yucatan Peninsula each evening before pushing offshore into the SW Gulf each night. The trough will drift westward during the overnight hours, and dissipate over the SW Gulf each morning. A moderate to locally fresh NE-E-SE wind shift is forecast along the trough, with seas of 2-4 ft. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... Ridging N of the area continues to support fresh to locally strong trade across the Caribbean, roughly to the S of 17N and E of 82W, with the strongest winds occurring nocturnally along the coasts of NW Venezuela and Northern Colombia, with the area of strong winds expected to expand outward as far N as 15N just prior to sunrise each morning. little change expected through the weekend with the pressure gradient then relaxing next week. Expect strong E winds along the S coast of Hispaniola beginning on Tue night. Moderate to locally fresh trades are forecast across the waters E of the Lesser Antilles beginning on Sun night, with guidance suggesting that seas will build to 8 ft E of the Leewards on Mon night to the E of a tropical wave, with these sea conditions reaching the NE passages on Tue night, then subsiding on Wed. ...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... An E to W ridge along 27N will shift S to a position from 29N55W to the Florida Straits on Sat, from 30N55W to 22N80W on Sun and Mon, then shift back N from 29N55W to Fort Pierce Florida on Tue night and from 30N55W to Port Canaveral Florida on Wed night. Moderate to locally fresh southerly flow will continue N of the ridge through Sat ahead of a weak cold front slipping off the Se Georgia coast Sat evening. The front will stall from 31N76W to 28N81W on Mon, drift W on Tue, and move inland the SE CONUS on Wed. Moderate to locally fresh easterly flow is forecast S of the ridge, except becoming strong during the late afternoons and evenings along the N coast of Hispaniola, and occasionally spreading W across the AtlC approach to the Windward Passage, all beginning on Mon afternoon.
