A ridge along 30N across the northern Gulf will maintain gentle to moderate E to SE winds and seas 4 ft or less through Friday. A weak thermal trough will develop each evening over the Yucatan Peninsula then push offshore into the SW Gulf at night. A surge of fresh NE winds associated with the trough will briefly build seas to near 5 ft. ...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W... A tropical wave along 80W is moving through the west Caribbean at 15-20 kt. TPW precipitable water imagery shows deep tropical moisture west of 75W. The wave will move across Central America through Wednesday. Another tropical wave along 64W is moving through the eastern Caribbean at 15-20 kt. Satellite imagery continues to show a disctinct leading edge of clouds and showers racing ahead of the wave axis. This wave will move into the western Caribbean Wed night, and push across Central America Friday. Fresh winds and seas of 5-6 ft will accompany the wave. Winds and seas will increase Friday and Saturday northeast of the Lesser Antilles ahead of a vigorous tropical wave along 31W and an elongated surface trough centered near 10N33W. The wave and low are expected to come into phase together with improved upper level dynamics overnight, enhancing its potential for tropical cyclone formation. This tropical disturbance will cross 55W Fri night, then approach the Leeward Islands on Saturday. ..SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS... A ridge along 31N will support gentle to moderate breezes N of 25N and moderate to fresh trade winds S of 25N. Periods of strong winds can also be expected each evening along the northern coast of Hispaniola. Looking ahead, winds and seas will increase Friday and Saturday NE of the Lesser Antilles ahead of a tropical low currently in the east-central Atlantic near 10N33W.
