DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Hurricane Fabio was located
near latitude 15.8 North, longitude 116.5 West. Fabio is moving
toward the west-northwest near 15 mph (24 km/h).  A west-northwest
to northwest heading at a similar forward speed is forecast over the
next several days.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 110 mph (175 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Some slight strengthening is still possible
through this evening and Fabio could still become a major
hurricane.  Steady to rapid weakening is forecast to begin on
Wednesday, and Fabio will likely weaken to a tropical storm on
Thursday.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 175 miles
(280 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 964 mb (28.47 inches).
