DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Otis was
located near latitude 15.9 North, longitude 127.3 West. Otis is
moving toward the west near 3 mph (6 km/h).  A slow northward
movement is expected to begin overnight and continue through the
next couple of days.

The estimated maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h)
with higher gusts. Otis is forecast to strengthen slightly during
the next 48 hours.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1003 mb (29.62 inches).
