DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Irwin was
located near latitude 14.9 North, longitude 124.8 West. Irwin is
drifting toward the west near 2 mph (4 km/h), and little motion is
expected through Saturday.  A turn toward the the north-northeast
to northeast with an increase in forward speed is expected on
Sunday.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 50 mph (85 km/h) with
higher gusts.  Some fluctuations in intensity are possible during
the next couple of days.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1001 mb (29.56 inches).
