DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Hurricane Irwin was located
near latitude 15.7 North, longitude 121.5 West. Irwin is moving
toward the west-southwest near 7 mph (11 km/h). This general motion
is expected to continue during the next couple of days with a
gradual decrease in forward speed.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 80 mph (130 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Gradual weakening is expected during the next
few days.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 15 miles (30 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles
(110 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 987 mb (29.15 inches).
