DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 1000 PM CDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Nine-E
was located near latitude 9.4 North, longitude 95.7 West.  The
depression is moving toward the west near 14 mph (22 km/h).  A turn
toward the west-northwest is expected on Saturday, and a motion
toward the northwest is expected on Sunday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
Strengthening is forecast and the depression is expected to become
a tropical storm later tonight and reach hurricane status later this
weekend.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
