DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Greg was
located near latitude 14.3 North, longitude 117.4 West.  Greg is
moving toward the west near 10 mph (17 km/h).  A westward or
west-northwestward motion at a slightly faster forward speed is
expected over the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts.
Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Greg
could become a hurricane by Saturday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles (95 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1003 mb (29.62 inches).
