Warning along the Pacific coast of Mexico.

DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK
------------------------------
At 100 AM CDT (0600 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Calvin
was located inland near latitude 16.1 North, longitude 96.1 West.
Calvin is moving toward the west-northwest near 5 mph (7 km/h). A
motion toward the west-northwest or west is expected today. On the
forecast track, the center of Calvin will continue to move inland
over southeastern Mexico today.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 35 mph (55 km/h)
with higher gusts. Additional weakening is forecast today, and
Calvin is expected to become a remnant low or dissipate over the
mountainous terrain of southern Mexico later today or tonight.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).


HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
RAINFALL:  Calvin is expected to produce total rainfall
accumulations of 5 to 10 inches across the Mexican states of
Chiapas, Oaxaca, and Guerrero, with possible isolated maximum
amounts of 20 inches. More than 10 inches of rain has already
been reported in Salina Cruz in the Mexican state of Oaxaca.
Calvin is also forecast to produce total rainfall accumulations
of 4 to 6 inches in the Mexican states of Tabasco and Veracruz, as
well as in Guatemala. More than 5 inches of rain has fallen in the
city of Veracruz. These rains are expected to produce
life-threatening flash floods and mudslides.
