possible within the watch area, generally within 48 hours.

DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK
------------------------------
At 100 PM CDT (1800 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Two-E
was located near latitude 14.0 North, longitude 97.8 West. The
depression is moving generally toward the northeast near 3 mph
(6 km/h) and a slow motion toward the northeast is expected during
the next couple of days.  On the forecast track, the center of the
depression should approach the Pacific coast of Mexico on Friday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher
gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and
the depression could become a tropical storm on Thursday.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).


HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
WIND:  Tropical storm conditions are possible within the watch
area by Friday.

RAINFALL: The depression is expected to produce total rainfall
accumulations of 8 to 12 inches across the Mexican state of Oaxaca
with isolated maximum totals of 20 inches possible.  These rainfall
amounts may produce life-threatening flash floods and mudslides.
