* The Pacific coast of Mexico from Salina Cruz to Puerto Escondido

possible within the watch area, generally within 48 hours.

DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK
------------------------------
At 400 PM CDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Two-E
was located near latitude 13.9 North, longitude 97.6 West. The
depression is moving erratically toward the northeast near 2 mph
(4 km/h) and this general motion is expected to continue with
some increase in forward speed during the next couple of days.
On the forecast track, the center of the depression should approach
or move over the Pacific coast of Mexico on Friday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
Slow strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and the
depression could become a tropical storm on Thursday.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).


HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
WIND:  Tropical storm conditions are possible within the watch
area by Friday.

RAINFALL: The depression is expected to produce total rainfall
accumulations of 8 to 12 inches across the Mexican state of Oaxaca
with isolated maximum totals of 20 inches possible.  These rainfall
amounts may produce life-threatening flash floods and mudslides.
