DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ulika was
located near latitude 14.5 North, longitude 138.7 West. Ulika is
moving toward the north-northeast near 7 mph (11 km/h).  A turn
toward the north and then the north-northwest is expected later
today and early on Thursday, with a turn toward the northwest after
that.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 70 mph (110 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Steady weakening is expected during the next
couple of days.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 995 mb (29.39 inches).
