DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Roslyn was
located near latitude 16.8 North, longitude 118.8 West.  Roslyn is
moving toward the northeast near 3 mph (6 km/h).  This general
motion with an increase in forward speed is expected during the
next day or so.

Satellite wind data indicate that the maximum sustained winds are
near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts.  Weakening is forecast
during the next 48 hours, and Roslyn is expected to become a
tropical depression Tuesday night.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 150 miles (240 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1000 mb (29.53 inches).
