DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Kay was
located near latitude 22.0 North, longitude 118.0 West. Kay is
moving toward the west near 8 mph (13 km/h) and a motion toward the
west or the west-northwest is forecast during the next couple of
days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts.
Continued weakening is forecast, and Kay is expected to become a
tropical depression on Tuesday and degenerate to a remnant low
pressure area Tuesday night.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1004 mb (29.65 inches).
