DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ivette was
located near latitude 15.1 North, longitude 126.2 West.  Ivette is
moving toward the west near 15 mph (24 km/h), and this heading
with a gradual decrease in forward speed is expected through Friday
night.  A turn toward the west-northwest is forecast on Saturday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts.
Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Ivette
could still become a hurricane by Friday night or Saturday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles (130 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1004 mb (29.65 inches).
