DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ivette was
located near latitude 14.7 North, longitude 124.7 West. Ivette is
moving toward the west near 15 mph (24 km/h), and this motion with
some decrease in forward speed is expected over the next couple of
days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts.
Some gradual strengthening is forecast during the next couple of
days, and Ivette could become a hurricane late Friday or Friday
night.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles (130 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1004 mb (29.65 inches).
