DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Hurricane Georgette was
located near latitude 18.2 North, longitude 128.2 West.  Georgette
is moving toward the northwest near 7 mph (11 km/h), and this motion
is expected to continue through Tuesday night.  A turn toward the
west-northwest with an increase in forward speed is forecast on
Wednesday.

Maximum sustained have decreased to near 100 mph (155 km/h) with
higher gusts.  Rapid weakening is forecast during the next 48
hours, and Georgette is expected to weaken to a tropical storm on
Tuesday.

Georgette is a small hurricane.  Hurricane-force winds extend
outward up to 10 miles (20 km) from the center and
tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 976 mb (28.82 inches).
