Interests in extreme southern Baja California Sur should monitor
the progress of Frank.


DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 1000 PM CDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Frank was
located near latitude 16.1 North, longitude 105.2 West. Frank is
moving toward the northwest near 17 mph (28 km/h).  A general
northwestward motion with a decrease in forward speed is expected
during the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 50 mph (85 km/h) with
higher gusts.  Additional strengthening is forecast during the next
48 hours, and Frank could become a hurricane Friday night or
Saturday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles (95 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1002 mb (29.59 inches).
