DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Hurricane Darby was located
near latitude 15.7 North, longitude 115.5 West. Darby is moving
toward the west near 12 mph (19 km/h) and this general motion is
expected to continue with some increase in forward speed during the
next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 80 mph (130 km/h) with higher
gusts.  Some slow strengthening is forecast during the next 48
hours.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles
(150 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 989 mb (29.21 inches).
