DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 300 PM MDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Darby was
located near latitude 15.7 North, longitude 109.8 West.  Darby is
moving toward the west near 12 mph (19 km/h), and this general
motion is expected to continue during the next few days.

Satellite data indicate that maximum sustained winds have increased
to near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts.  Additional
strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Darby could
become a hurricane on Wednesday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1002 mb (29.59 inches).
