DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 900 AM MDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Blas was
located near latitude 11.6 North, longitude 110.3 West.  Blas is
moving toward the west-northwest near 13 mph (20 km/h), and this
motion is expected to continue for the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 60 mph (95 km/h) with
higher gusts. Strengthening is forecast and Blas should become a
hurricane by Monday, and is expected to become a major hurricane by
Tuesday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1001 mb (29.56 inches).
