DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 300 AM CST (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Sandra was
located near latitude 10.8 North, longitude 105.0 West.  Sandra is
moving toward the west near 13 mph (20 km/h).  A decrease in forward
speed is expected over the next couple of days, with a turn toward
the northwest forecast by Wednesday.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 45 mph (75 km/h) with
higher gusts.  Additional strengthening is forecast during the next
48 hours and Sandra is expected to become a hurricane on Wednesday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles (130 km)
from the center, mainly northwest through northeast of the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1002 mb (29.59 inches).
