DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 700 AM PST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Rick was
located near latitude 17.8 North, longitude 118.5 West. The
depression is moving toward the northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h).  A
turn toward the north-northwest and a decrease in forward speed are
expected on Monday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
Weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Rick is expected
to become a remnant low later today.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches).
