DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 400 AM CDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Blanca was
located near latitude 13.3 North, longitude 104.6 West. Blanca is
moving toward the west near 1 mph (2 km/h).  A slow and erratic
motion is expected during the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts.
Rapid strengthening is forecast during the next couple of days,
and Blanca is forecast to become a major hurricane by Wednesday
night or early Thursday.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1001 mb (29.56 inches).
