A TROPICAL STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT ALONG THE COAST OF
WESTERN MAINLAND MEXICO FROM HUATABAMPITO TO BAHIA KINO.
 
FOR STORM INFORMATION SPECIFIC TO YOUR AREA OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED
STATES...PLEASE MONITOR PRODUCTS ISSUED BY YOUR NATIONAL
METEOROLOGICAL SERVICE.
 
AT 1100 PM PDT...0600 UTC...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM JIMENA WAS
LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 27.5 NORTH...LONGITUDE 111.7 WEST OR ABOUT
40 MILES... 65 KM...EAST-NORTHEAST OF SANTA ROSALIA MEXICO.
 
JIMENA IS CURRENTLY NEARLY STATIONARY.  THE STORM IS EXPECTED TO
TURN TOWARD THE WEST-SOUTHWEST ON FRIDAY MORNING AND CONTINUE THIS
MOTION THROUGH SATURDAY.  ON THE FORECAST TRACK...JIMENA IS
EXPECTED TO MOVE OVER CENTRAL BAJA CALIFORNIA THROUGH SATURDAY.
 
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 40 MPH...65 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER
GUSTS.  WEAKENING IS FORECAST DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS AND JIMENA
IS EXPECTED TO BECOME A TROPICAL DEPRESSION LATER TODAY...AND THEN
DEGENERATE INTO A REMNANT LOW FRIDAY NIGHT OR SATURDAY.
 
TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 70 MILES...110 KM
FROM THE CENTER.
 
ESTIMATED MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 1004 MB...29.65 INCHES.
 
JIMENA IS EXPECTED TO PRODUCE ADDITIONAL RAIN ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO
4 INCHES OVER PORTIONS OF WESTERN MEXICO AND 1 TO 2 INCHES OVER THE
CENTRAL PORTION OF THE BAJA PENINSULA DURING THE NEXT DAY OR SO.
ISOLATED MAXIMUM STORM-TOTAL AMOUNTS OF UP TO 30 INCHES ARE
POSSIBLE.
 
HIGHER THAN NORMAL TIDE LEVELS ALONG PORTIONS OF THE COAST OF THE
CENTRAL BAJA PENINSULA AND WESTERN MAINLAND MEXICO WILL GRADUALLY
SUBSIDE TONIGHT AND TOMORROW.
