NEAR LATITUDE 18.0 NORTH...LONGITUDE 35.0 WEST OR ABOUT 740 MILES...
1190 KM...WEST-NORTHWEST OF THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS.
 
FRED IS DRIFTING TOWARD THE NORTH NEAR 1 MPH...2 KM/HR...AND LITTLE
MOTION IS ANTICIPATED DURING THE NEXT DAY OR TWO. 

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS HAVE DECREASED TO NEAR 80 MPH...130 KM/HR...
