A TROPICAL STORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT ALONG THE WEST COAST OF THE
SOUTHERN BAJA PENINSULA FROM BAHIA MAGDALENA SOUTHWARD TO CABO SAN
LUCAS. A TROPICAL STORM WARNING MAY BE REQUIRED LATER TONIGHT OR
EARLY WEDNESDAY FOR PORTIONS OF THE WATCH AREA.

PROGRESS OF LOWELL.

LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 21.1 NORTH...LONGITUDE 113.2 WEST OR ABOUT 220
MILES...355 KM...WEST-SOUTHWEST OF THE SOUTHERN TIP OF BAJA
CALIFORNIA AND ABOUT 250 MILES...400 KM...SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF CABO
SAN LAZARO MEXICO.
 
LOWELL IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH NEAR 5 MPH...7 KM/HR.  A
TURN TOWARD THE NORTHEAST WITH A GRADUAL INCREASE IN FORWARD SPEED
IS EXPECTED TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY.  ON THIS TRACK...THE CENTER OF
LOWELL IS FORECAST TO APPROACH THE SOUTHWESTERN COAST OF SOUTHERN
BAJA CALIFORNIA LATE WEDNESDAY OR EARLY THURSDAY.
 
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 45 MPH...75 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER
GUSTS.  SOME WEAKENING IS FORECAST DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS.
 
TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 85 MILES...140 KM
FROM THE CENTER.
 
THE ESTIMATED MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 1002 MB...29.59 INCHES.
 
LOWELL IS EXPECTED TO PRODUCE 1 TO 3 INCHES OF RAINFALL THROUGH
WEDNESDAY ACROSS SOUTHERN BAJA CALIFORNIA AND ADJACENT PORTIONS OF
