...LOWELL MOVING SLOWLY TOWARD SOUTHERN BAJA CALIFORNIA...
 
A TROPICAL STORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT ALONG THE SOUTHWESTERN COAST OF
THE SOUTHERN BAJA PENINSULA FROM BAHIA MAGDALENA SOUTHWARD TO CABO
SAN LUCAS. A TROPICAL STORM WARNING MAY BE REQUIRED WEDNESDAY
MORNING FOR PORTIONS OF THE WATCH AREA.
 
INTERESTS IN SOUTHERN BAJA CALIFORNIA SHOULD MONITOR THE PROGRESS OF
LOWELL.
 
FOR STORM INFORMATION SPECIFIC TO YOUR AREA...INCLUDING POSSIBLE

AT 800 PM PDT...0300Z...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM LOWELL WAS
LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 21.3 NORTH...LONGITUDE 113.1 WEST OR ABOUT 235
MILES...375 KM...WEST-SOUTHWEST OF THE SOUTHERN TIP OF BAJA
CALIFORNIA AND ABOUT 245 MILES...400 KM...SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF CABO
SAN LAZARO MEXICO.
 
LOWELL IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH-NORTHEAST NEAR 6 MPH...9 KM/HR.  
A TURN TOWARD THE NORTHEAST WITH A GRADUAL INCREASE IN FORWARD SPEED
IS EXPECTED ON WEDNESDAY.  ON THIS TRACK...THE CENTER OF LOWELL IS
FORECAST TO APPROACH THE SOUTHWESTERN COAST OF SOUTHERN BAJA
CALIFORNIA LATE WEDNESDAY OR EARLY THURSDAY.
 
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 45 MPH...75 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER
GUSTS.  SOME WEAKENING IS POSSIBLE DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS.
 
TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 70 MILES...110 KM
FROM THE CENTER.
 
THE ESTIMATED MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 1002 MB...29.59 INCHES.

LOWELL IS EXPECTED TO PRODUCE 1 TO 3 INCHES OF RAINFALL THROUGH
WEDNESDAY ACROSS SOUTHERN BAJA CALIFORNIA AND ADJACENT PORTIONS OF
SINALOA AND SONORA STATES IN MAINLAND MEXICO.

TOWARD...NORTH-NORTHEAST NEAR 6 MPH.  MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS...45
