HURRICANE WARNINGS REMAIN IN EFFECT FROM LORETO TO BAHIA SAN JUAN
BAUTISTA ON THE EAST COAST OF BAJA CALIFORNIA AND FROM TOPOLOBAMPO
TO BAHIA KINO ON MAINLAND MEXICO.
 
AT 2 PM PDT...2100Z...THE GOVERNMENT OF MEXICO HAS DISCONTINUED
HURRICANE WARNINGS FOR SOUTHERN BAJA CALIFORNIA FROM LORETO
SOUTHWARD ON THE EAST COAST FROM BAHIA MAGDALENA SOUTHWARD ON THE
WEST COAST.
 
AT 2 PM PDT...2100Z...THE GOVERNMENT OF MEXICO HAS DISCONTINUED THE
HURRICANE WATCH ON THE MAINLAND FROM TOPOLOBAMPO TO ALTATA AND THE
HURRICANE WATCH ON THE WEST COAST OF BAJA CALIFORNIA FROM PUNTA
ABRAOJOS TO BAHIA MAGDALENA.
  
AT 2 PM PDT...2100Z...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE MARTY WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 26.4 NORTH...LONGITUDE 110.7 WEST.  THIS POSITION IS OVER
THE GULF OF CALIFORNIA AND ABOUT 65 MILES...110 KM...SOUTH OF
GUAYMAS MEXICO.
 
MARTY IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH-NORTHWEST NEAR 20 MPH...32 KM/HR. 
THIS MOTION...WITH A DECREASE IN FORWARD SPEED...IS EXPECTED TO
MOVE MARTY OVER MAINLAND MEXICO ON TUESDAY. 
 
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE ESTIMATED TO HAVE DECREASED TO NEAR  75
MPH...120 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER GUSTS.  ADDITIONAL WEAKENING IS
FORECAST DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS.
 
HURRICANE FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO  35 MILES... 55 KM...
FROM THE CENTER...AND TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP
TO 175 MILES...280 KM.
 
ESTIMATED MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS  987 MB...29.156 INCHES.
 
STORM SURGE FLOODING OF 3 TO 6 FEET ABOVE NORMAL TIDE LEVELS IS
STILL EXPECTED IN THE WARNING AREAS.  STORM SURGE FLOODING
ELSEWHERE WHERE WARNINGS HAVE BEEN DISCONTINUED SHOULD BE SUBSIDING
TODAY.
 
RAINFALL TOTALS OF 4 TO 8 INCHES...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS...
ARE LIKELY NEAR THE PATH OF THE HURRICANE.  THESE RAINS COULD CAUSE
LIFE-THREATENING FLASH FLOODS AND MUD SLIDES.

THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SOME RAINFALL SPREADING NORTHWARD OVER
THE EXTREME SOUTHWESTERN UNITED STATES DURING THE NEXT DAY OR TWO.
